CAMPING LOTTERY CLOSED  Lovegrass  will run an electric camping lottery for spots at Big Bluestem beginning Dec 1st 2023. 

 

All other electric campsites in the state park can be booked beginning on December 15th through reserveamerica.com

ONSITE CAMPING SOLD OUT!

Lovegrass Music Festival offers on-site Primitive/Non-electric camping at Buffalograss and Dakota areas on a First-Come-First Serve basis.  These areas are adjacent to the Lovegrass Festival grounds and will be available for $60, per camping unit, from Thursday, August 8th at 2 pm through Sunday, August 11th at 2 pm.  Camping permits will be available for purchase online during ticket registration HEREThere are a limited amount of these permits, and camping is first come-first serve ONLY!  No saving of spaces will be allowed!  Please be courteous to your neighbor and keep your camp size to a minimum and keep noise levels limited (no noisy generators PLEASE), especially during park quiet hours from 11 pm to 6 am.  ONE Lovegrass vehicle permit is provided per ONE camping permit.  Additional vehicle permits are $20 per vehicle.***

***Daily State Park vehicle permits are still required to be paid to the state park office as well.

The festival is located in the Lovegrass Group Camp at Wilson State Park, Hellcreek area.  The state park also includes the Otoe area, which is a five minute drive from the festival grounds.  Electric hookups are available by reservation only.  Reservations for Kansas state parks typically goes live the third week in December.

 

Wilson State Park offers showers, primitive and RV camping, cabins, mountain bike trails, swimming beaches, boat ramps, marina and bait shop, as well as some of the most breathtaking views of the lake!

Camping fees are "per unit" or per tent.  A camping permit is required for overnight stays, in addition to a daily vehicle permit which can be purchased onsite for $5.00.  All daily camping permits expire at 2:00 p.m. 

 

In addition to the fees below, there is a $3.00 per stay transaction fee for all overnight stays.

State Park Primitive camping:  First-come-first serve.  Primitive camping is available at Switchgrass, Side Oats, Little Bluestem and Indiangrass campgrounds.  State Park Daily Camping Fees: $10.00.  Can be paid at State Park office or via self pay station.

Fees vary depending on utilities.

Please take a few minutes to read over the rules and what to expect

  1.  A current motor vehicle permit is required for every motorized vehicle entering the state park.  These can be purchased at the state park office or at the self pay station at the entrance to the state park.  Your permit is required to be displayed for the duration of your stay and state park officials will be monitoring and ticketing those without permits.

  2. The Lake Wilson Marina will have food and beverage items for sale, as well as arranged food trucks both at the marina, and on the festival grounds.  Knotheads Baitshop just outside the state park also provides similar items.  There are dining and grocery options in the nearby towns of Lucas, Wilson and Dorrance.

  3. Our artists prohibit recording or use of professional cameras during the event.

  4. This is a rain or shine event.  Weather in Kansas can change at a moment's notice so please come prepared and make sure you keep informed of the weather conditions.  IN THE EVENT OF SEVERE WEATHER FESTIVAL ATTENDEES WILL BE NOTIFIED.  

  5. Site staff, park officers and local law enforcement will be patrolling the area and can refuse entry to anyone.

  6. Firearms, explosives or weapons of any type are not allowed on festival grounds.

  7. The use, possession, sale or distribution of illegal controlled substances is strictly prohibited.  Violation of this restriction, shall, at a minimum, be reason to refuse entry or expel an attendee from the festival site.  

  8. The use and possession of alcohol beverages is permitted at Wilson state park, so long as such possession and use is consistent with federal, state and local laws and regulations.

  9. THOSE PATRONS WHO EXHIBIT EXTREME PUBLIC INTOXICATION, ARE INVOLVED IN PHYSICAL ALTERCATIONS OR EXHIBIT ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR WHICH CREATES A NUISANCE TO THE PUBLIC ARE SUBJECT TO IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE FESITVAL GROUNDS WITHOUT WARNING.

  10. Motor vehicles are restricted to maintained roads and parking areas only, unless otherwise posted, and are limited to a 25-mile-per-hour speed limit.  Parking areas will be marked and you must not obstruct the flow of traffic and be completely pulled off of roadways.  Please drive slow and watch for pedestrians, bicyclists and children playing.

  11. Camping is allowed only in designated areas and is subject to restrictions as posted.  No Saving of camping areas is permitted in the Lovegrass premier camping areas. Any property left unused or unoccupied for 48 hours is subject to removal.

  12. ONE vehicle per camping permit (Primitive OR Electric) is allowed in camping areas (Buffalograss, Big Bluestem, Dakota).  Additional vehicle permits can be purchased at the ticket registration link. 

  13. Fires are allowed in fireplaces, fire rings, and cooking grills. Fires must be completely extinguished prior to leaving the area.

  14. Swimming is allowed in designated areas. Liquor and beer are prohibited on swimming beaches or in waters designated by buoys or other markers as swimming areas. For other beverages, only shatterproof containers are allowed.  No Lifeguards are on duty, SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK.  

  15. Boating and fishing regulations can be obtained at Wildlife and Parks offices.

  16. NO PETS are allowed on the Lovegrass Festival grounds.  In other areas, the state park allows pets, but they must always be restrained by a camper, cage, hand-held leash, or tethered chain no longer than 10 feet. They are not allowed on swimming beaches or swimming areas that are delineated by buoys or other markers or in public buildings or structures. Dogs participating in authorized activities or assisting the visually or hearing impaired are not subject to these restrictions.

  17. Fishing is prohibited on boat ramps, swimming beaches, and in swimming areas marked with buoys. In state parks, fish may only be cleaned at designated fish cleaning stations or other locations as posted.

  18. Boats may not be operated within 200 feet of any area posted specifically for swimming and delineated by markers. No-wake speeds are required within 200 feet of a boat ramp, boat dock, boat storage, or concessionaires facilities. Boats may be moored or stored in excess of 24 hours only at designated sites. Vessels left unattended at other than a designated moorage or storage sites are subject to removal. Other posted notices may apply.

  19. Fireworks are not allowed at any time during the festival.

  20. PACK IT IN PACK IT OUT! Litter must be put in trash containers, if provided. Where containers are not provided, park users must carry their trash out with them.  Recycling containers will be provided on site.  Please keep our park cleaner than you found it!

  21. Digging holes, removing geological formations, archeological relics or ruins, or vegetation (except for noncommercial use of edible wild plants, wild fruits, nuts, or fungi) is prohibited.

  22. Any resident who has a permanent handicapped identification placard or a wheelchair license plate may be issued, upon request, an annual handicapped persons special motor vehicle permit for a vehicle for which that resident is the title holder.  Accessible Parking will be available on the festival grounds.

  23. No person may advertise or solicit sales without previous written approval from the state park.

  24. Quiet hours are 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Actions which alarm, anger, or disturb others are prohibited. Failure to comply may result in expulsion from the park.  Extended acoustic jamming hour is from 11 P.M. to 12 P.M. during the festival.  Please respect your neighbors.

  25. LEAVE YOUR VALUABLES AT HOME.  IF YOU LEAVE THEM IN YOUR VEHICLE OR CAMPER, PLEASE BE SURE THEY ARE OUT OF SIGHT.  LOVEGRASS MUSIC FESITVAL/WILSON STATE PARK ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS OR DAMAGE TO VEHICLES OR CAMPERS.  

  26. Attendance of this event constitutes a knowing and voluntary waiver of liability.

  27. Be responsible and have FUN!
